Why GreenRenoV8?

The building sector faces unprecedented challenges in meeting EU climate goals while ensuring structural safety. Our approach uniquely integrates:

  1. Comprehensive assessment of building renovation needs.
  2. Combined energy efficiency and seismic resilience solutions.
  3. Cost-effective renovation strategies.
  4. Innovative financing mechanisms.

GreenRenoV8 addresses the critical challenge of achieving a climate-neutral society by 2050 through sustainable building renovation. The project focuses on regions where approximately 50% of European territory is susceptible to earthquakes, requiring a comprehensive approach to both energy efficiency and seismic resilience.

Project Objectives

The overall objective of GreenRenoV8 is to advance the understanding and practical implementation of national roadmaps for reducing carbon emissions. This is achieved through a thorough examination of sustainable building renovation, which encompasses energy efficiency, seismic considerations, and the complete life cycle of carbon emissions. This comprehensive approach allows for the assessment of the manifold benefits of investing in energy-efficient building stock, spanning social, economic, and environmental dimensions.

GreenRenoV8 is designed to support the transition to a climate-neutral and resilient European building stock. Our work focuses on practical solutions, informed policy, and innovative tools to make sustainable renovation the standard.
