Matevž Pušnik, Ph.D.
He is an expert in reference energy systems planning and energy consumption modelling. His research includes the development of different energy system models, especially national reference energy systems and models of individual energy sectors and technologies on the basis of the modern mathematical approaches. The Centre uses the models as primary tools for consistent and transparent preparation of expert support for national development strategies in the fields of energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy sources and monitoring and evaluation of effects. He is involved in international research and application projects mainly concerning energy efficiency in industry. He also cooperates with industry, especially energy intensive industries, exploring possibilities of the use of advanced energy management systems, which represents an important part of his work.
