Marko Matkovič, Ph.D.

He graduated at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana and obtained his PhD at the Technical University of Physics in Padua. His main area of work includes experimental research on heat transfer and fluid mechanics between single- and two-phase flows, pure fluids and mixtures. Prior to joining JSI, he worked as a university lecturer – assistant professor and self-employed – mechanical installation designer, and at the “Jožef Stefan” Institute, he led the establishment of an experimental laboratory in the field of fluid mechanics and heat transfer of multiphase flows. After the opening of the laboratory, he joined the Energy Efficiency Centre, where he coordinates the implementation of the LIFE IP CARE4CLIMATE project at the level of JSI partner and participates in the rationalisation of energy use of various energy installations. He is co-author of three patents and numerous scientific research papers.
